Keeping a Gumtree purchase separate from collection

Use this request for transport of a Gumtree purchase. Agree the sale and permission to release the item with the seller before final collection arrangements. For a purchase from another marketplace, use the marketplace-collections service.

Fill the gaps in the listing

Ask the seller to confirm dimensions, condition and packaging. Explain whether the item is assembled and identify fragile or loose parts. Tell us which details are still unknown when you start the request.

Keep purchase and transport arrangements clear

Agree the purchase and item handover with the seller separately. Give the seller address, delivery address and available collection times. The team reviews suitability, availability and price; a request does not reserve a vehicle or slot.

Planning access in Abingdon

For a Gumtree collection, confirm access with the seller as well as at your own address. Describe stairs, lifts, doors, parking and the route from the item to the loading point.

Old-town lanes and estate driveways

For East St Helen Street or the Market Place, identify a loading point and the walking route to the entrance. For Peachcroft or Northcourt, describe shared drives and turning space.
