Dan was amazingly helpful and managed to sort out a same day removal within a few hours for me!

My original removal guys dropped out last minute and these guys came and saved the day.

Great service. Great team. Took exceptional care to look after our contents and packed them away thoughtfully.

Dan and his colleague were punctual and professional. Nothing was too difficult including taking heavy chairs up three flights of stairs.

Turned up with 2 vans, gutted the house, shed and garden in no time at all while taking incredible care of the items they were moving.

Arrived on time, formed a plan, and then executed it efficiently. All for a great price too!

The two movers were professional, efficient, and handled everything with care.

Super friendly team, and had cared well over my belongings - from my flat and all the way to my storage unit.

UK to UAE removals: prepare your shipment

Moving from the UK to the UAE needs planning for the shipping mode, packing and import documents. Share a full inventory so restricted items and delivery requirements can be reviewed before booking.

Build your inventory before choosing what to ship, including any furniture that needs dismantling or extra protection. Add complete collection and delivery details, with floors and loading restrictions where known. Note anything you plan to send separately or keep in UK storage. These details help the team review the load and suitable transport options. Use the route guidance below to identify the documents and arrangements to discuss before availability and the final quote are confirmed.

What actually matters on this route

Prohibited itemsUAE customs distinguishes prohibited goods from goods needing approval. Check alcohol, food, medicines, publications and artwork with the relevant authority before packing; passenger allowances do not establish permission for a freight shipment.
Residence visaCheck which visa or residency documents are needed for your shipment and whether relief applies to your circumstances.
Attested documentsAsk whether your particular documents need attestation before paying for certification or dispatching the shipment.
InspectionAllow for customs checks in the plan and keep the inventory accurate. An inspection or release date cannot be promised in advance.
Customs documentationExport declaration and itemised packing list - £145, added once regardless of destination or volume, never folded into the cost of the vehicle.
Outside the quoteGovernment fees, import duties and taxes, and port storage are not in the quote, and you obtain, and pay for, any permit or customs paper the destination requires. Ferries and tolls on the route are covered when your quote says so.
Destination terminal handlingThe estimate includes a £265 destination terminal allowance. Actual charges are checked before confirmation; this applies to sea and air shipments, not road groupage.

These notes help you prepare questions; they are not a complete customs checklist. Check the rules for your goods and circumstances with the relevant authority before shipping. Dubai Customs: prohibited and restricted goods Abu Dhabi Customs: restrictions and approvals

How the price is worked out

International moves are priced by volume, not by distance. What matters is how many cubic metres you fill and how the shipment travels - a container does not care whether it started in Abingdon or Aberdeen.

  • Inventory first. We work out your load in cubic metres from the items you list; for a larger or complex move we may offer a video survey, which confirms the price and does not set it.
  • Shared or sole-use. Compare the calculated transport options for your inventory and confirm the quoted mode before booking.
  • Route: Jebel Ali.
  • Schedule: Confirm collection, consolidation where needed, customs clearance and final delivery separately.
  • Export packing. Every shipment gets export-grade wrap and a customs inventory, itemised as its own line - about 18% added to the shipping cost for packing that has to survive a container and a long transit, not just a van down the road. Full details of our packing service are on its own page.

We are not VAT-registered, so there is no VAT to add to your shipping cost. The figure shown is an indicative estimate; your final written quote confirms the price after we review the route, requirements and applicable charges.

Moving to the UK instead?

If you are bringing a household to the UK, you may be eligible for Transfer of Residence (ToR1) relief on qualifying personal belongings. Apply for HMRC approval before shipping. If you paid import duties but were eligible, HMRC may still approve a late claim and repayment. Check HMRC's conditions and late-claim process. Relief is not automatic; destination-country customs, duties and taxes on outbound moves are separate.

Moving to UAE

What can I not ship to the UAE?

Use the official prohibited and restricted goods guidance for the destination emirate. Dubai lists alcoholic beverages as restricted, and food and publications have their own controls. Obtain item-specific confirmation before including them in a household shipment.

Is air freight worth it to Dubai?

Compare sea and air quotes for the items you need first. The load, permitted contents, delivery deadline and onward handling determine which option suits the move.

How much does it cost to move to the UAE from the UK?

A one-bedroom household is typically £3,450-£4,000 by shared container - confirm the destination emirate, delivery access and applicable charges before booking.
