Very pleased with their service - very punctual, hard working and great care. They did a difficult removal with great smile on them.

Dan and his colleagues were so brilliant and careful. They went out of their way to make my mums move seamless

The team was punctual, professional, and handled all my belongings with great care. The whole moving process was smooth and stress-free.

Dan was amazingly helpful and managed to sort out a same day removal within a few hours for me!

My original removal guys dropped out last minute and these guys came and saved the day.

Dan and his colleague made the entire house move process seamless, they were helpful, accommodating and nothing was too much trouble.

Great service. Great team. Took exceptional care to look after our contents and packed them away thoughtfully.

Dan and his colleague were punctual and professional. Nothing was too difficult including taking heavy chairs up three flights of stairs.

Turned up with 2 vans, gutted the house, shed and garden in no time at all while taking incredible care of the items they were moving.

Arrived on time, formed a plan, and then executed it efficiently. All for a great price too!

The two movers were professional, efficient, and handled everything with care.

Super friendly team, and had cared well over my belongings - from my flat and all the way to my storage unit.

UK to USA removals: prepare your shipment

UK to USA removals involve the shipping route, arrival port and onward delivery arrangements. Your inventory and addresses help us review the load, packing and transport requirements before confirming the scope.

Build your inventory before choosing what to ship, including any furniture that needs dismantling or extra protection. Add complete collection and delivery details, with floors and loading restrictions where known. Note anything you plan to send separately or keep in UK storage. These details help the team review the load and suitable transport options. Use the route guidance below to identify the documents and arrangements to discuss before availability and the final quote are confirmed.

What actually matters on this route

CBP form 3299CBP publishes form 3299 for unaccompanied articles. Check the form and the supporting documents required for your shipment.
Residence and item historyPrepare arrival and residence details and record how long the goods have been owned and used. Confirm the applicable entry category and any relief conditions rather than assuming visa status alone decides the duty.
Inland deliveryInclude your delivery ZIP code. Confirm inland transport, handling, price and delivery window separately from the ocean crossing.
Alcohol and foodCheck item-specific import restrictions and carrier acceptance before packing alcohol or food. Do not assume ordinary household-goods relief covers them.
Customs documentationExport declaration and itemised packing list - £145, added once regardless of destination or volume, never folded into the cost of the vehicle.
Outside the quoteGovernment fees, import duties and taxes, and port storage are not in the quote, and you obtain, and pay for, any permit or customs paper the destination requires. Ferries and tolls on the route are covered when your quote says so.
Destination terminal handlingThe estimate includes a £265 destination terminal allowance. Actual charges are checked before confirmation; this applies to sea and air shipments, not road groupage.

These notes help you prepare questions; they are not a complete customs checklist. Check the rules for your goods and circumstances with the relevant authority before shipping. US Customs and Border Protection: form 3299

How the price is worked out

International moves are priced by volume, not by distance. What matters is how many cubic metres you fill and how the shipment travels - a container does not care whether it started in Abingdon or Aberdeen.

  • Inventory first. We work out your load in cubic metres from the items you list; for a larger or complex move we may offer a video survey, which confirms the price and does not set it.
  • Shared or sole-use. Compare the calculated transport options for your inventory and confirm the quoted mode before booking.
  • Route: New York, Baltimore, Savannah, Houston or Long Beach.
  • Schedule: Confirm collection, consolidation where needed, customs clearance and final delivery separately.
  • Export packing. Every shipment gets export-grade wrap and a customs inventory, itemised as its own line - about 18% added to the shipping cost for packing that has to survive a container and a long transit, not just a van down the road. Full details of our packing service are on its own page.

We are not VAT-registered, so there is no VAT to add to your shipping cost. The figure shown is an indicative estimate; your final written quote confirms the price after we review the route, requirements and applicable charges.

Moving to the UK instead?

If you are bringing a household to the UK, you may be eligible for Transfer of Residence (ToR1) relief on qualifying personal belongings. Apply for HMRC approval before shipping. If you paid import duties but were eligible, HMRC may still approve a late claim and repayment. Check HMRC's conditions and late-claim process. Relief is not automatic; destination-country customs, duties and taxes on outbound moves are separate.

Moving to USA

How much does it cost to ship a house to the USA?

A one-bedroom is typically £3,525-£4,100 by shared container and a three-bedroom £7,825-£9,200 by shared container, before inland delivery. Volume drives it, not distance.

How long does it take?

Ask for a schedule covering consolidation, the sailing, clearance and inland delivery to your ZIP code. A port arrival date is not a door-to-door delivery date.

Does my visa status change the cost, or where I live in the US?

Check the customs procedure and any relief conditions for your circumstances before shipping. Give the destination ZIP code and confirm inland delivery, handling and any customs charges in the written quote.
